Remember when Lady Gaga was fun?

Hey you guys!  Do you remember when Lady Gaga was fun?  When she was all about dancing and laughing and singing and making a spectacle of herself for no reason? Remember when you’d go on the internet to see what insane outfit she had on and whether or not she decided to put on some pants?

Well, those days are over.

It took Madonna more than ten years before she hit the self-righteous, preachy stage.  Things move more quickly nowadays, and Lady Gaga is already at the point where she is shoving a message down our throats.  Yes, it’s a great message.  I think that gay rights are very important and I donate money and support the cause in any way I can.

However, I don’t think Gaga is helping anyone in the gay community who wants to be treated equally.   She is portraying herself and her cause as freaks of nature.

Wouldn’t it have been so great if the Born This Way video had shown people in the LGBT community as everyday people that you might run into without recognizing their “differences”?  People just going through their day, working, going to school, shopping, whatever.  Sure there could still be a big dance number and costumes and all that, but just think about how much better the message would come across if the image associated with it was not like an X-rated anatomy film directed by David Lynch.

I felt like I was watching the four-hour, Japanese cut of Dune when I was checking out the new Gaga video.  Watch both clips and maybe you will see what I mean.

UGH – THANKS YOU TUBE.  Neither clip will embed so just click the link that comes up when you start to play it.  HOW ANNOYING.

See what I mean?  It’s all a bunch of incomprehensible gobbledygook.  Well, actually, Dune is one of my favorite movies but it took me until the 10th time I saw it before I really figured out what the hell was going on.

Lady Gaga IS the Kwisatz Haderach!
